The American Nurses Association (ANA) is the only full-service professional organization representing the interests of the nation’s 3.1 million registered nurses through its constituent and state nurses associations and its organizational affiliates. Mission:

The AFPA – American Fitness Professionals & Associates mission is to provide students with an affordable education that gives them the knowledge, skills and awareness necessary to enhance their own lives, the lives of others, and the community at large through innovative program design, teaching, research and service focused on the professional practice of fitness, wellness, nutrition, health and physical education.

Goals and Objectives:

To provide AFPA fitness, health, wellness and nutrition distance education programs and certifications that are of interest to those in the physical fitness, health, wellness and nutrition industry by way of offering quality, reasonably priced, updated and new distance education programs and certifications.

Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA)

Setting the Standards since 1984

The Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association, formed in 1984, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing, promoting and implementing national standards for the training and certification of group exercise leaders in Alberta. The AFLCA offers certification in the following areas of group exercise leadership:

Aquatic Exercise
Resistance Training
Fitness for the Older Adult
Group Exercise Leader

If you choose the Group Exercise Leader route, you must also pick at least one area of specialization: Portable equipment, Choreography, Step, Cycling, Mind/body
